Celebrating Black History Month at Tidan: A Workforce of Diversity, Expertise, and Heart

At Tidan, our hotels, resorts, and real estate portfolio are built on more than properties — they are built on people.

Across Montréal and beyond, our teams bring together different cultures, languages, experiences, and perspectives. This diversity strengthens our ability to welcome every guest with warmth, professionalism, and authenticity.

During Black History Month, we are proud to celebrate members of our team whose journeys reflect resilience, leadership, and the power of community. Today, we spotlight Diagou Diallo, a leader whose story embodies the values that make Tidan stronger every day.

Say Hello to Diagou Diallo!

For Diagou, the most fulfilling part of her work is human connection.

She thrives on collaborating with employees from diverse backgrounds and skill sets, and at Nouvel Hotel, she sees diversity as a true strength that makes the work richer and more stimulating. In an industry as dynamic as hospitality, every challenge becomes an opportunity to learn and grow.

Two values guide her every day: loyalty and teamwork.
In hospitality, cohesion is essential as departments must work hand in hand to offer guests exceptional service. Loyalty to colleagues builds trust, stability, and stronger collective results.

Diagou’s leadership style has been shaped by her professional journey, evolving from Executive Housekeeper to Staff Manager and Director of Housekeeping. Through these experiences, she embraced a leadership approach based on empowerment, trusting teams, giving autonomy, supporting rather than controlling, and encouraging responsibility.

Her greatest inspiration is her mother, a teacher and school director who broke barriers through education and ambition. She also finds inspiration in Rosa Parks, whose courage reminds us of the power of perseverance and standing up against injustice.

Outside of work, Diagou loves travelling and discovering new cultures, cuisines, and perspectives; the experiences that refresh her spirit and broaden her outlook.

Why Black History Month Matters at Tidan

Black History Month is an opportunity to recognize contributions, honour our employee’s journeys, and listen to the stories that shape our collective success.

At Tidan, diversity is not just something we celebrate once a year, it is part of who we are. It strengthens our creativity, improves our service, and reflects the communities we serve.

By spotlighting colleagues like Diagou, we honour the expertise, dedication, and humanity that define our teams and help us create welcoming spaces for every guest, every day.
