Position Summary:

Reporting to the chief accountant, the accounting technician is responsible for all accounts payable transactions for the hotel.  The accounting technician must make sure all payment deadlines are met for assist the head of departments with their administrative vendor tasks.  The accounting technician will also assist the Chief accountant with month end accruals and reconciliations.  This position is also the backup for the accounts receivable clerk.

Chief Accountant Duties and Responsibilities:

•        Process invoices in the Tipalti system.
•        Ensure the correct coding of the GL.
•         Prepare bi-monthly payment requests.
•         Responsible for administrative tasks related to the position (release of checks, filling, etc.)
•        Reconciliation of vendor statements.
•        Assist Chief accountant with month end accruals related to unpaid invoices, as well as some balance sheet reconciliations.
•        Regular communication with head of departments to ensure purchasing process is respected.
•         Communication with vendors regarding any disputed amounts, or questions.
•         Other tasks as requested.

Qualifications:

•  Preferred degree in accounting or a related field
• Two (2) years of experience in a similar position required
• Advanced computer skills including Excel
• Strong organizational skills.
• Time and task management.
• Problem-solving abilities.
• Attention to detail.
• Initiative.
