Work Location

This is a 100% on-site position 

 

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Controller, your role will be to coordinate, support, and carry out a variety of accounting activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and support the work of the accounting team (3 employees);
  • Participate in the processing of accounts payable;
  • Prepare group billing and ensure follow-up on accounts receivable;
  • Review, verify, and approve payroll;
  • Assist in the preparation of bank reconciliations;
  • Prepare month-end and year-end journal entries;
  • Perform account analyses and prepare financial reports;
  • Analyze variances between actual results and budgets;
  • Validate and prepare supporting documentation for the presentation of financial statements;
  • Actively contribute to other ad hoc or recurring financial projects as needed.

Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies

  • Diploma (DEC) or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role;
  • Experience in the hospitality and food & beverage industry is considered an asset;
  • Demonstrated proficiency with information technology systems;
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 (particularly Excel), point-of-sale (POS) systems, and standard accounting software;
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills;
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities;
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, and highly responsible;
  • Versatile with the ability to manage a variety of responsibilities;
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities simultaneously, solve problems, and meet deadlines;
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail;
  • Collaborative leadership and a strong team-oriented mindset.
