Reporting to the Director of Operations and the Front Desk Supervisor, the guest service Agent takes room reservations, greets clients upon arrival and during their stay, provides information about the establishment and its services as well as local attractions, and processes payments from clients.
Job Description:
• Respond to all inquiries via phone, email, and extranets.
• Coordinate guest arrivals and departures.
• Promote hotel products and services such as breakfast and the bar.
• Upsell rooms and amenities.
• Collect payments for services rendered via the PMS.
• Answer various questions about hotel services, local attractions, and regional activities.
• Coordinate group arrivals and departures in collaboration with the Sales Department.
• Handle guest complaints.
• Perform any other customer service-related tasks.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Previous hotel and/or restaurant experience required, specifically at the front desk, bartending, serving, or breakfast preparation.
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English
• Ability to work in a team
• Ability to work under pressure
• Availability to work varying schedules (evenings and weekends) and pick up shifts
• Knowledge of local attractions and the city in general
• Customer-oriented mindset
• Ability to identify customer needs
• Smart Serve certification required
• Food handler certification is an asset
• Advanced knowledge of hotel software applications such as Opera/OPERA Cloud
• De-escalation and conflict resolution skills
• Multilingualism is an asset
